First Zoo Trip on 25th April, Friday

Leia was in a blur blur mood when we were in the zoo. She was woken up early by noises made by Marisa who was preparing for the trip. Weather was fine but she doesnt seem to appreciate the little animals at this age.

Headband / Opening & Closing Knees

New stunt - opening and closing my knees. Leia laughs whenever she forces my knees closed. Weirdly, she started to drill her head in between my legs. I've no idea where she learnt this from. Recently, she does not detest wearing headband anymore. Here she is, posing at my camera, smiling and wearing her new favourite headband.

Leia & Chloe at Great World City!

Met up with Karen & Chloe at Great World City!
The gals had fun with the car rides!

Our Home

Our home became so messy since we had Leia. The balinese decor style has gone to waste. Our living room is filled up with her hi-chair, portable yaolan, play yard & toys.

Marisa is leaving in Mid May, so we are getting a new maid soon. Leia and new maid will still be at Ah Chor's place at Commonwealth in the day but I will be fetching them back in the evening. I'd sold off the un-utilised cot and made space for Leia to sleep on mattress besides my wardrobe.

Little Leia mesmerised with her Hi-Fi show.

Leia took her own pictures!

She loves my mobile phone camera too much!
Here're the 1st 2 pictures taken by Leia.

Auntie Marisa has been teaching Leia how to drink water from cup. She likes it.

Fringe Cut

Finally, Leia had her fringe trimmed in the hair salon, instructed by Ah Chor aka great grandgranny, as her fringe is almost covering her eyes. Looks a little nerdy tho'. And she looks so ah-go-go in the left outfit. Bought the pink 1-pc suit from Gymboree BP. Good buy at USD$9.90 only! Too bad, it's a little long, hopefully she's a bit taller in a month's time, so that it fits her better when she wears it to my ex-JC classmate Mei Yin's wedding. Marisa bought her the hairband at $1 only. Leia usually doesn't like us to clip her hair, put on headband etc but surprisingly she likes to wear this a lot.

Smiling Babe in the car

Love this picture! I was playing with Leia in the car while waiting for papa to collect something from home. I'll look at it when I feel bored or down, never fails to cheer me up.

Leia had high fever!

On Sunday evening, we brought Leia for her 1st pneumococcal jab. She was fine on Monday. On Tuesday midnight, Aunt called and told us she's running high fever, so we brought her to NUH A&E children department. Her entry temperature was 38.9 degree and it went up to 39.9 degree when the nurse checked again. While waiting to see the doctor, Leia was given some medicine to drink to lower her temperature. She was so sleepy, tired and cried big time when doctor was checking on her. The nurse put a urine bag for her to collect urine for testing and poor Leia had to go through blood test as well. What annoyed us was that after pricking her little finger, the nurse slowly squeeze out her blood, 1 drop after another in slow motion. She was crying in fear and pain, making 3 of us (Daddy, Mummy & Marisa) so upset. After 4 hours in the hospital, doctor said her blood test is fine. She's not having bacterial infection, more like a viral infection, which means that she could have catch some virus from the surrounding air. Her urine was spilled out, still they did the urine test and told us that it may be contaminated. I had to bring her urine to the hospital the next day for a re-test and fortunately, she's cleared from urinal tract infection. While Leia was slowly recovering, she started having heat rash. It's really heartpain when I see the rashes.

Leia's little kitchen

Daddy suggested to get Leia a mini kitchen to keep her busy since she loves to open and close doors. We went shopping at Marina Square, wanted to do some kitchen research at Kiddy Palace & caught sight of this Fisher Price product at a promo price of $89.90, usual price at $129! Daddy said since he's there, may as well get it as he can carry it. Good Buy! Looks like Chi-Cha Auntie right?

Saving Account!

Finally, I'd open a saving account with OCBC Bank, for Leia. It's called the "Mighty Savers" account. With the angbaos collected from Chinese New Year & Leia's birthday, we managed to set aside some cash for this account, meant to be her future education fund. What an achievement! We're given a freebie DVD featuring a kid's program called "Mandy and her mighty adventures". Hope our little gal learns to use her $ wisely in future.
